Un-Hostile Take-Over

“Team,” the leader began, “we have a new mission on our agenda today. A deliverance not unlike the many we’ve done in the past. As usual, the owner called on us to conquer and remove the invaders that are currently in place within this organization. My Son did the preliminary work a while back, when the original distress call came in. All went well, the culprits were removed. However, there was a breech in the security system; they made their way back in and are attempting a hostile take-over.”

“Sir,” the first assistant inquired “how will we be able identify the hostile ones?”

“They will be easy for you to recognize, for they are agents of our arch enemy and refer to themselves as Doom and Gloom. There is nothing good about them,” the leader replied.

“We’re eager to accept this assignment,” replied the Holy Spirit. “Give us your blessing and we will move in and conquer. One question, though, what will become of these hostile ones?”

“I will destroy them and they will never invade this soul again,” said the Lord. “I will throw them into the fire where they will burn to ash and the east wind will come and blow them away.

“I command you to enter this Soul and remove all evil and impurities from it. I, the Lord, have spoken.”

So, the Holy Spirit and his team (the fruits) invaded the troubled soul. The first battle was in the central control room (the heart). Love, Joy, Hope, Kindness, Goodness, and Gentleness flooded the heart and forced out Hate, Sorrow, Self, Anger, Doubt and Fear. The other team, Peace, Patience, Faithfulness, Self-Control and Confidence made their way to the upper annex (the mind) and eradicated Distress, Anxiety, Indulgence, Deceit and Intolerance.

After earnest prayers, the battles were over, and the Holy Spirit's team emerged victorious over the Doom and Gloom warriors.

“Well done, team!” said the Master. “The soul is rejoicing and singing praises to us once more. As requested, my Son and I will assume complete control of Soul from this point on. We shall stay here forever.”

Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things
