Just Like A Child

too excited for slumber.
impatiently waiting,

just like a child,
maybe a bit wild
perhaps naïve
with uninhibited trusting
where how and why, unending questioning

just like a child,
dependent and needing guidance
openly speaking lovingly.
new honesty and refreshed innocence.
playful and carefree
singing with glee
your wonders now see.
obediently follow
wanting more, more, more
of your love,
of your love.
